Tutorial

So I had my tutorial to get me back into the swing of things and it was soooo useful!! Matt was brilliant and really drew my attention to what I am physically doing with the scanner. The scanner is touching the objects that were left behind by Grandad. It has made my working title "residue" fit all the more, however im still not 100% on it but im sure that will come in the next few weeks. The most successful scans are the ones where grandad had repeatedly used and worn away the objects such as in the images above. They have become more than just scans of a chair they have become almost like a link to his skin or to his physical form. The scanner through its contact with the objects becomes a contact point for him.  I am now looking at reducing the quantity of my images and the idea of having them in a book seems less relevant now so that may not happen after all!! Im going to go back to Ireland again! and aim going to scan now with this improved ideology and hopefully expand my collection of images to maybe 10-12. I also need to experiment with scale so I'm thinking about just getting a couple of images printed off in a variety of sizes off the epsilon printer. its very exciting ^_^
